"Recalculate" - Have you ever come to a point in your life that you had to recalculate your time, your priorities, and even some appointments? What is the meaning of that word so often used? It is the description of what happens when we are considering or navigating change. In fact, the concept of “examining” the realities of life and how those measure up to our vision for our family is an important strategy for parents to be doing on a regular basis. If it reality doesn’t match up to vision, then the option to “recalculate” may be important. The GPS is a good example of how it recalculates the journey when we are off course on a trip. The only way we can recalculate is to slow down enough to examine and evaluate the condition of our relationships, the habits of our family, and the daily stresses of our life. By asking, “Is this the life I want to live?” we can begin the process of evaluating. If the answer is “No,” then recalculate and get yourself and/or your family headed back in the right direction. How do u like my TV console?

I have always want my TV console simple and clean. However, I made a regretted purchase back home for a heavy brown-colour set which looks dusty most of the time. 4 years passed, I have never displace any picture, even though I always wanted to -no motivation, procrastination, whatever you call that. The thought of dusting, in some way turned me off- as much possible, I kept the top bare.

But look at this, the almost near ideal TV console! With fresh flowers displaced too! Aww~ don't I just love it. It doesn't have to be some designer made. Just some homely displace that make you feel right.

A Singaporean In Australia: The Emotions Prior to Departure

A Singaporean In Australia: The Emotions Prior to Departure: The conversations with her brought back vivid memories of my own. I thought it differs, determined by factors such as level of affluence ...

yah... same sentiment. Why, why move? This question has been prompted in my mind so many times, till today I am still uncertain. Our hearts has yet to settle in this new land downunder. We miss the familiarity we had enjoyed back home. It is tougher than we have imagine. I really hope time can past faster so that we can feel more settle as time goes by.

The extras are not meant for us...

September: DH was giving $300+ worth of gift card for scoring well with customer feedbacks. We ended up using this amount to fix our car.

October: DH will be getting $200+ as commission. And we have an upcoming wedding to attend. So there goes the commission.

When can we really get to enjoy the extras on ourselves? Anyhow, we are still thankful for the rental income back home to sustain a little bit of luxury here. Like, the exercise game, better pillows for better sleep, a coffee machine...

Internet is UP & Car is DOWN

iinet finally 'grant' us the connection, after 3 weeks. Partly because we got impatient with Optus service.

Unfortunately, our car is down. DH called, with a little frustration in his voice, to let me know that our car needs servicing right away because there was some weird noises, and that he has managed to drive the car to the nearest Kmart Auto. Immediately I thought, 'how is he going to get home and how is he going to get to work the next day?!' The names run through my mind like those number balls for lottery... Can't remember was it me or DH who mentioned Rena! Yes, she stayed close by and best of all she has the highest chances to be home (because teachers are on strike today). With a call, she went to the rescue. We are really thankful of the help and rescue. Not only did she lend us her spare car, she even gave us some chocolate cake.

Isn't that wonderful to have this sister! Thank you Lord!

Now, we just hope the servicing will not make too big a hole in our pocket. The gift card comes in handy... PTL for his providence!

New found te-lend~

Sabbath issue *~*

We never really have any sabbath issue thus far. Soon, we will. WC will be schedule for work on sabbath. We have no dates yet... but he see it coming soon.

I told WC "We should not worry, 'cos God will take care. ", like with a slap on my chest of faith.

If God's interception does not come in time, it may means WC will got to quit... the main income source we have will be broken.

Lord, we leave this in your hand. We have faith that you will take care of this.

Contentment? How?

How can I be contented...? This kinda created a guilt in me. Did I move downunder because I am not contented?

The Secret of Contentment?
Charles Stanley

After his encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus, Paul had much to learn about salvation and following Christ. Throughout his life, the apostle shared what he was discovering. In his letter to the church at Philippi, he wrote about a very important life lesson - the secret of being content.

What kind of life do you think brings contentment? You might assume it is one with few troubles or great success. You may want good health, financial security, and a loving family. Paul's life was not at all like this. He was in danger from both his own countryman and the opposition (2 Corinthians 11:23-26). Sometimes the people listened, but more often, they were hostile to his message. He also had a "thorn in the flesh" which God refused to remove (2 Corinthians 12:7-9). And Paul even spent considerable time in prison, chained to a guard. Yet he boldly wrote, " I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation" (Philippians 4:12, NIV).

The secret he discovered was to live on the basis of his position in the Lord, not his feelings. As God's child, Paul knew he was spiritually rich - "blessed . . . with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ" (Ephesians 1:3) because he had a loving Father and the Holy Spirit's guidance.

Contentment in our media-driven age is hard to find and harder to keep. There's always something newer, bigger, or better to buy and someone else who has what you want. When you feel unsatisfied, try basing your response on your position as a co-heir with Christ (Romans 8:17) rather than feelings.

My first interview

Had my first interview, for an admin role in a legal firm, this morning. The boss did most of the talking, telling me his expectations. He is keen on hiring while I am keen to start working. Seems like nothing has been confirmed. Let's wait for him to send me the file that he wanted to test me on. Guess after this he will evaluate and update me again.

Lord, if this is the replacement you have prepared for me, provide me with the right skills and wisdom to handle the new challenges. And to be able to work well with new colleagues and new boss.

Gumtree collection

Spent AUD650 for a used washing machine, fridge and microwave. All Samsung brand. All thanks to Uncle Danny and BH (beloved husband) for carrying it down from 3rd floor! Fortunately, the other 2 single beds were 'no deal'. Otherwise, we will be dead in bed by now.

Another AUD600 over flew off to Super-a-Mart for the bed and mattresses. Pray that all the rest will fall into place nicely. Can't wait to sleep in my Sealy mattress! The most expensive mattress I ever bought in my life.

I post this as a constant reminder to myself

Why Does God Delay in Answering Prayer?

Charles Stanley
Scripture makes it clear that our heavenly Father hears and answers prayer. Yet we all experience times when, though we pray for God to act right away, He does not. What are some reasons for the delay?

At times the Lord sees that our attention is misdirected. Our relationship with Him should have priority over any earthly matter (Mark 12:30). Yet minds and prayers can become so fixed upon a need that our gaze shifts away from Him. The Father may delay His answer until we refocus on Him. In other situations, God waits because the timing is not right for granting our request. Perhaps certain events must happen first, or people's thinking needs to be changed.

There are also seasons when the Lord wants to stretch and grow our faith. One of the ways He accomplishes that is by having us watch for His response. The Holy Spirit will work in these times of waiting to mature us and bring forth righteous fruit (Galatians 5:22-23).

Other reasons are a wrong motive for our request (James 4:3) and the practice of habitual sin. We all fall short when it comes to God's standard of holiness, but some of us persist in a lifestyle of disobedience. The Lord may delay His answer so He can prompt us to confess our sin and turn back to Him.

Waiting on the Lord isn't easy—faith and trust are needed (Hebrews 11:1). If His answer is delayed, check that 1) your focus is on Him, 2) your motive for asking is God-honoring, and 3) you aren't practicing habitual sin. Then believe that His response will be for your good and His glory.
